Letting Go

Today I am reminded of letting go, learning to be greater than my environment in order to invoke change in myself and my life. I cannot change other people, and let's be honest, many people aren't interested in becoming the best version of themselves that they can. I can only change myself and my perspective.
This sounds like a very simple task, yet it is not easy. It is very hard to focus on oneself and learn to respond, versus react, to the environment around you. I know that if I continue to change my perspective and how I view life, that my life will change. Situations and perceived problems will disappear, and people and events that no longer serve me will move along and find another place to be. I know this to be true because when I look back on my life, I can see how I have created the life I have now. I am grateful for those experiences and for those people in my life that have brought me to where I am now. But it IS time for a change. It is time to move myself forward and create the life that I was meant to live.
I'm reminded of a statement made by Cody Bret that I stumbled across. It goes like this:
" At some point in your life ....
You have to realize that not everyone is interested in growth and becoming a better version of themselves.
They are not interested in healing or even changing at all.
A lot of these individuals are just always going to be okay with behaving the way they always have in the past, even if it’s harmful.
What you have to do .... is to accept this and remind yourself of your self-worth and that you are the person who gets to decide who you pour your time and energy into.
Take my advice ..... and accept people for who they are, & leave them where they belong.
~ Cody Bret "
