Sitting in Stillness

Lately, I really have begun to enjoy just sitting. The weather has been perfect for sitting on my back patio, watching egrets swoon through the backyard and land near the other side of the lagoon. Often they wade at the edge of the lagoon looking for food. The squirrels come out under the bird feeder in the backyard and seem oblivious to the multitude of birds that are whipping back and forth to the feeder. Squabbles break out, and sometimes there's a chase scene, with one bird chasing another through the air for quite some time. The hummingbird whisks in quickly to it's feeder, steals a drink, and darts off. Soon the frogs will begin, all croaking out a song in unison, and then abruptly stop, only to start back up in a few minutes.

Nature is amazing to watch and being still allows me to feel connected and in tune with everything around me. The gratefulness and appreciation for life and the amazing workings of the universe fills my body and soul, and my mind relaxes into stillness. Being here now. Just being here. Just being.
